The Law Society of Northern Ireland
The Society consists of Council Members, its Officers and Members.
In 1922 a Royal Charter was granted to solicitors in Northern Ireland to permit the setting up of the Incorporated Law Society of Northern Ireland. Under the 1976 Solicitors (Northern Ireland) Order, the Law Society acts as the regulatory authority governing the education, accounts, discipline and professional conduct of solicitors in order to maintain the independence, ethical standards, professional competence and quality of services offered to the public.
Land Registers of Northern Ireland
The Agency's purpose is to record accurate details of legal interest in land in Northern Ireland and to provide a fast and accurate land information service to facilitate the process of conveyancing. Applications for registration (most commonly made by Solicitors) can be lodged either by post or in person at the Registries. Searches of the official record can be made at the Registries' Public Counters which are open between 10.00 am and 4.00 pm Monday to Friday.

Legal Services Commission
The Northern Ireland Legal Services Commission assumed responsibility on 1 November 2003 for the provision of publicly funded services in Northern Ireland. The Commission is an executive Non-Departmental Public Body (NDPD) that is sponsored by the Northern Ireland Court Service, a part of the Ministry of Justice. The powers of the Commission are set out in Article 7 of the Access to Justice (Northern Ireland) Order 2003.
Northern Ireland Court Service
The Northern Ireland Court Service (the Court Service) was established in 1979, by the Judicature (Northern Ireland) Act 1978, as a separate civil service in Northern Ireland. It is the Lord Chancellor's department in Northern Ireland. The purpose of the Court Service is: to provide administrative support for the Northern Ireland courts, i.e. the Supreme Court, county courts, magistrates’ courts, coroners’ courts and certain tribunals.
